C wt Mochyn is the perfect home from home dog-friendly holiday cottage; a rural retreat for family holidays where kids can run free, go on a nature adventure, and cook dinner cowboy style on the campfire.
This eco-friendly, three bedroom self-catering holiday cottage is a reinvention of a former 1800’s stone cow barn with adjoining pig sty, converted into a spacious, detached, single-storey cottage.
A contemporary fitted kitchen is well equipped, and we provide essentials like oils and a selection of herbs & spices for guests who like to cook. Reclaimed and upcycled furniture not found in any catalogue or department store give it a character all its own. Original stone walls and wooden beams have been retained in the open living-dining space with wood burning stove, where the high ceiling opens up to the roof. There are three colourful bedrooms, each with plenty of hanging and drawer space for clothing; all bed linen and towels provided are organic cotton, and vintage Welsh wool blankets and hot water bottles will keep you cosy on winter nights.
The enclosed garden features a lawn and patio, picnic bench and fire pit, and a bbq is available for summer evenings (or even winter, if you fancy it!).
Guests are welcome to bring up to two dogs (no puppies), but please see our “Dog Friendly” page for the rules for woofers.
Accessibility: Uneven stone paths lead to steps for access into the cottage, but we can provide a ramp for step free access via the side patio door. The cottage interior is step free. We had a fantastic stay in Cwt Mochyn. It had 3 bedrooms so each of our kids had their own room. There were also lots of games, cuddly toys and DVDs for them to enjoy. We all learnt to be more recycle aware thanks to the great info provided. They loved getting involved with feeding the pigs and checking the chickens for eggs in the mornings! Highlights for parents was taking advantage of the home cooking in the freezer including home grown sausages from last year (tasted amazing) and honey from the Banceithin bees. Dave and Phil were wonderful hosts and gave us additional information when we needed it. Came away super relaxed and can’t recommend this highly enough.
It’s amazing. I really loved it. Can I live here PLEASE. I love it here can’t wait to come here again next year!
Our tenth year coming to this tranquil and lovely place. Perfect for our three generations, something for all of us to enjoy together and the firepit, pizzas and marshmallows to end the week.
