Eco-friendly holidays designed with your comfort in mind
Creating the perfect place to relax & unwind
We bought Banceithin and moved to West Wales to slow down, down-size, live more sustainably in an eco-friendly environment, and generally remember how to appreciate the simpler things in life. We hope we have created a place where our guests can do the same.

About us
We are the cliché, the people who escaped the city rat race with ideas of living the dream. We packed in our jobs, packed ourselves, our cat Charlie and our belongings into a lorry and headed west along the M4 and beyond. In a nutshell, that’s how we now find ourselves living on a 15 acre smallholding, somewhere between the Cardigan Bay coast and Cambrian Mountains in Ceredigion. The reality has proved to be very different to the dream, at times hard work, but ultimately more rewarding than we could ever have hoped it would be.
About our ethos
We do our best to run our lives and our holiday cottages as sustainably as possible, but we want our guests to have a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Our hope is that Banceithin is proof that sustainability and comfort can go hand in hand. If you leave your green holiday relaxed and ready to face the world again, that makes us happy. If you leave your green holiday inspired to make just one little change towards a greener life style, that’s the icing on our cake.
You can read more about how we put our ethos into practice on our Green Holidays page.

About our smallholding
Much of our land is rough wet grassland given over to wildlife, but the rest of what was once neglected is home to a small flock of sheep, an apiary, polytunnel, soft fruit and vegetable plots, pens for pigs bought in to fatten each year, and, of course, chickens.
Wildlife and our surrounding environment are vitally important to Banceithin, to the county of Ceredigion and to all of us wherever we live. We also believe in food without cruelty and a future without factory farms and caged animals. We try to support charities that share our beliefs. For every cottage booking we donate £1 to Compassion in World Farming to support the work they do to end factory farming in the UK and around the world.
On the green front, it was interesting to read your story and it has made us think too how we could be more eco-conscious at home. We think it is brilliant that you have brought these derelict farm buildings back to life.
The passion and love that has been put into this place oozes from the walls!
Saw this advertised in a magazine many years ago and kept the article as I loved the ethics. Just by chance whilst clearing up thought I’d check it out before throwing article away. So glad I did! Great stay and food!
