Banceithin is a 10 acre smallholding nestled in a secluded valley near the small village of Bethania, in Ceredigion, West Wales. Set between the Cambrian Mountains to the east and Cardigan Bay to the west, our eco holiday cottages are perfectly located for exploring the scenery of the remote Welsh countryside and beaches along the Coastal Path.
We have two self-catering holiday cottages; Hen Ffermdy cottage - a couples retreat perfect for romantic breaks (sleeps 2 plus infant); and Cwt Mochyn cottage - a dog-friendly cottage for family holidays (sleeps 6 plus infant). Both are renovated former farm buildings blending modern interior design and facilities with the character and original features of the traditional Welsh stone buildings.
“Everything the website promised and a little more! The area is tremendous and the cottage proved to be the island of peace and tranquillity we were hoping for. This is a perfect base from which to explore the many, varied and frequently staggering coastlines. Loved the radiogram and deeply eclectic choice of LPs to go with it – in a world of riches that might be the thing we miss most.”

Our goal is to provide the highest quality holiday accommodation while minimising the impact on the environment. Our principal aim is to run Banceithin and our eco self-catering holiday cottages as sustainably as possible.
We do not have an official EV charging point, but guests with electric vehicles are welcome to plug in to our domestic supply to charge over-night for a small per kilowatt charge.
We encourage guests to get out and about and enjoy some of the things to see & do in Cardigan Bay, but you don't have to go anywhere at all to enjoy yourself – wander the smallholding, watch the red kites soaring above or just spend your day chatting to the chickens.
“We have been to many self-catering places over the last 33 years and this has been the best by far. The lovely touches… Very comfortable, to lie in bed at night with no sound or light at all, perfect relaxation.”
